caution: head banging causes neck problems.

Dear life & blog readers.. if I have any..
I love you.
But really life is fun. college is fun. my apartment is fun. and my roommates are even funner. That was a lot of fun squeezed into a sentence.

So about a week ago I returned from a fabulous trip to the big apple. Im just going to give a brief picture description, so if you want a more in depth account of our adventures in NY read Miss Kelsie Shae McDonalds blog post here.
BUT I will be so nice as to include our music video we made here watch it, its pretty funny.

& Ill include a couple of my favorite pictures from the trip. :)

okay so a couple was definitely an understatement... sorry.

another update.. Ive officially started my sophomore year of college. And Ive just got to say right now I definitely prefer sophomore year over freshman year.
weve been here for 1 week and a day. And its been a straight up party. I already told you that my apartment is way fun why?
·      We are over excited to check the mailbox everyday.
·      We make meals as roommates.
·      We have already had a waffle party, several dance parties, movie nights & game nights. Oh and Saturday is our cool pool party for the cool kids at our school. So come. If youre cool.
·      We sing-a-long when one roommate breaks out in song. No matter the song.
·      We have met lots of new friends that are boys.
·      We went and creeped at the temple on Sunday afternoon. If you know what Im talking about you are probably guilty of the same thing.
·      We make fun of each other when we sing in the shower.
·      We take pictures of each other when we fall asleep in awkward positions.
·      We give each other BMPs.
·      Weve played ultimate ultimate spoons.
·      We all have gotten sore necks from head banging at dance parties.
·      We have battle wounds from ginormous slip n slides.
Yes I know.. now you agree with me that we have fun right? Here are our roommate pictures. And a few other fun ones. Enjoy :)

Get off my case. i was in Vegas.

Disclaimer: this will be long. I just feel it necessary. So read quick or somesing.

Sometimes Vegas calls your name and sometimes you just have to obediently heed that call. Well at least that’s what we did this weekend. Whoever says mormon girls can’t have fun in Vegas is seriously seriously mistaken.

So now I’m going to give a play-by-play of our adventure of course highlighting the fun and exciting parts.

We all packed up Friday and planned to head out by 10 but 2 ½ hours later after 2 visits to Big-O’s.....

.......and 2 visits to the Kearns home we pulled out. Stopping in provo to pick up the beloved A Rich at Mcdonalds. While there we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to Plank. Hehe. We’re such big nerds.

The 6 hour drive went relatively quick considering the fact that we had 5 girls in a little car with NO IPOD ADAPTER. So we took to the old-fashion way of C.D.’s and conversation to get us through. & good news it worked. Time flies when you talk about marriage & go emo & stuff.

We got to Vegas and drove to Courtney’s brothers house. They are the cutest & so nice for letting us stay with them. Dinner at BJ’s (which we all secretly think stands for Beiber Justin’s). with the most COMPLICATED check of my life. I don’t think Vegas-ans really like splitting the check 5 ways?  But what else do you do when you are a poor college kid? Then off to H&M! which is 3 stories of heaven. I think we spent 2 hours there. Giddy the whole time because of our remarkable finds & savings.

Day 2 started off at The original pancake house (which is seriously fabulous.) where we scouted out mormons, bore our testimonies of Vegas, and told Densley the food sucked (we were lying of course. she is just on a crazy diet).

Then we set off for FOREVER 21. Of course.. mind you it is the biggest one in the entire world. Which explains why court & I completely lost the other 3 for an hour & 1/2 .  No joke. We all found lovely items that we just ‘had to have’. Hal takes the cake for the most dolla bills spent. You go glen coco.

Then we finally made our way out onto the strip. We took lots of pictures & ate dinner at Serendipity. Cute atmosphere, pricey delicious food & a snobby waitress.

Then we went over to Caesars palace where it suddenly dawned on us that there is no better place than Caesars to make a music video. & why not do it to a song that was sung originally in Greece. Well in a Disney movie based in Greece. Despite the hundreds of weird stares & laughs we got it turned out pretty well.

Okay so I know this is wayyy too long but only 1 more story. I promise. On our drive home we were all getting tired and maybe a little bored? But don’t tell anyone I admitted it. Until a white truck pulled up along side of us. Must have been fate because it was full of boys. They waved, we waved, their number slid out the window, we called it, they seemed & sounded fun, and we figured out they were good boys (RM’s to be exact ;), so we facebook stalked them, and then met them in filmore for dinner. Hahaha. That was a VERY summed up version to a VERY funny story. Needless to say.. we made some friends & thank the heavens for that!

well in conclusion: go to Vegas with your besties & confirm everyone suspicions that Mormons are bizarre. it really is fun :)

gone with the wind.

Dear Best Friend,
  • You hated me because I called you anti-social.
  • I hated you because I thought you were cocky.
  • Then we became the best of friends.
  • We told people we were twins separated at birth, and most of them believed us.
  • We teased my mom about kissing games.
  • We had heart to hearts that lasted into the wee hours of the morn.
  • At one point I had an itsy bitsy crush on you. Then I realized it was weird to crush on your twin
  • You dated my cousin. Then a few years later you dated my roommate.
  • We went to sweethearts and entertained ourselves by pinching awkward couples butts.
  • We were best friends with each others families.
  • You called me cheeks & cha-che, I called you BC and Haydes Lord of The Ladies.
  • You put mountains of shredded paper in my bed, so I returned the favor by filling your car with the same paper.
  • We gave each other hundreds of back rubs.
  • We decided early on that holding hands was out, considering my  hands were baby and yours were giant.
  • You would swear, and I would punch you everytime it happened.
  • We went to palisades together and spied, eavesdropped, and laughed more than should have been allowed.
  • We met Dennis Pita together, and obnoxiously yelled DEFENSE DEFENSE.
  • I told you your eye color was creamy mustard poo, you sang honkeytonk badonkeydonk every time i walked in front of you.
  • I was honest to you when the girls you dated were brats, and you told me when the boys I liked were losers and dementors.
  • We went to premiers together.
  • You called my dad hero and I called your parents by their first names.
  • We played cards so much we should be considered losers.
  • We made up inside jokes like it was no ones business.
  • You aggravated me more than you can know and I’m sure I did the same to you. But we always remained the best of friends.

I’m going to miss you in these next two years, but I know you will be an amazing missionary. I’m looking forward to our inside joke filled letters. See ya in two BC :)

i solemnly swear i'm up to no good.

Title explanation: i miss Harry POtter and my Hogwarts buddies already.

Warning: this post will not be as enjoyable unless you turn this song on in the background.

Summer. Just thinking about that particular season brings a smile to my face & hopefully yours. And I would like to submit that there is no better way to spend your summer than by putting on those old rollerblades that are approximately 2 sizes too small, and cruising around the block.  What can beat the warm summer breeze that makes your hair a bit tangly & the hot sun; who in fact is the mastermind behind the hundreds of freckles that appear on faces, shoulders, & noses within a 15 minute time frame. At least that happens on my rather fair skinned complexion.

I ran into some old friends of mine the other day who must think along the same lines as I do.. (just play along people).

past. present. future.

  • the first time around was the longest. immature but fun. difficult but so worth it. full of complex emotion. unforgettable.

  • the second time around was crowded; too many people involved. enjoyable. short-lived and rushed. the pain turned into revenge.

  • the third time around was careless. long awaited and needed. for one. brief  and ended miserably. for one.

  • the fourth time around was unexpected.  fun as usual. the inexplicable connection resurfaced. complicated of course. but ever so lovely.

& now. looking back. i understand. i learned and grew through the tough times. & i am more me than ever. so before the fifth time comes around i’m calling it quits. adios. and most importantly saying goodbye. but just for the record.

 “this is fun. you’re fun.”

The Lake of Powell

Lake Powell should really be called heaven on earth I think everyone that has been there would agree with me on that new title.  It was so relaxing going from crazy busy life to a week of only worrying out how much you should eat and where you should sleep. I’m not trying to brag or anything. But we seriously had way too much fun down there. To start off we stayed on the Nautilus II. Which is a 3 story Taj Mahal of a boat. It included 2 slides, several flat screen TV’s, and a Hot tub. We. Were. Spoiled. We also found the time in our jam packed, schedules to choreograph a synchronized swimming routine, cliff jump, wake surf, wake board, jet ski, tube, hike, kayak, explore, ski, watch every Harry Potter movie, play games, make a music video and I think you get how tough it was for me to bear this vacation.
So like I said earlier, we made a music video. To what you might ask? Well I don’t wanna spoil it so how about you check it out for yourself. My family is pretty funny if I do say so myself. This video pretty much sums up our week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBzq6hToTYk
Well I hope you enjoyed that. Peace out home slices. I <3 LP & HP.
P.S. harry Potter 7.2 was seriously amazing.

Brushing paid off my dear.

While sitting in one of those leather retractable chairs at the dentist I couldn’t help but make a bullet point list in my head of all the reasons I dislike the dentist.
·      Multiple peoples hands get to go in your mouth which I don’t exactly love.
·      The fluoride is always nasty. Always.
·      The polisher is disgusting (say that word like the two obnoxious chaps from Hitch. Ya know what I’m talking about?).
·      The tickling tool that applies the polisher makes me, my teeth and my gums wish we were dead.
·      When the dentists assistants are just digging around in your mouth they still hold you responsible to continue the small talk. I don’t think they understand that when someone else’s fist is in your mouth it makes it a tiny bit hard to utter useless facts about yourself.
·      They have no mercy when they try and rip your gums open with their floss made of leather.
·      My mouth is stuck in the shape of an O for the following hour because they make you hold it open for so long.

Okay I’m done complaining. Good news from the trip to the dentist. No cavities for this girl. Also I got a new toothbrush which always makes brushing your teeth more of a thrill.

Oh and P.S. i love my best friends. and giant rocking horses. so this picture is just muy bueno.

day of birth and cousin by birth.

Okay its been awhile since I’ve posted. So I’m warning you right now this might be a long one. First off I have the best friends and family ever :). Thanks everybody for the birthday wishes, it was a very memorable birthday. I am now in the 19 club wahoo!! My darling parents decided to get me this.......

for my birthday and oh boy am I in love. It is just as great as everyone says it is. Iphones just increase the happiness in life. Just saying. I also got some other great presents from my friends including a snazzy bra, darling hat and sunglasses, a photo collage that makes me legitimately LOL everytime I look at it, and a locket that is still waiting for me to insert pictures. It will happen. I pinky promise.

Secondly, i want to make a shout out to this girl. ^^^^ Michelle Monique Denning. One of the most amazing girls I have ever had the chance to meet. AND I am lucky to be related to her so basically I’ll get to hang out with her for eternity. Best cousins forever. Everytime we’re together, without fail, we find something stupid yet entertaining to do.. there is never a time where we are not laughing our heads off while we’re together. these include eating banana wheat thin sandwiches, putting sleeping bags in our pants and sliding down the stairs, dressing up as 70's aerobic work out ladies, taking dolls when we went to hang out with people, our many rollerblade adventures, alpine days, the trips up to palisades and the fun we have in the tent, sitting out side of skyler and haydens tent listening to them talk and fart then throwing rocks at them, all of the family parties, the sneaky times we've had, watching lion king with bronson and gunnar hahahaha. the back scratches, the movie marathons, the shopping adventures, riding home in that dang truck from palisades, the hundreds of boxes of captain crunch we've been through, dressing up as gangsters and scaring people at the park, making up dances, doing our hair crazy and poofing our hair huge, the late night crazy weird stories we text to people. just for fun, the hundreds of movie quotes and song lyrics that we send to people when we're bored on car rides, the songs we yelled and yelled and yelled because we were mad at boys, all of my glasses of water that you drank, the midnight jogs at beca's apartment, making music videos... and this list could go on forever. she is such a great example to me of someone who has gone through so much and still remains so strong. She is always cheerful and happy and makes me smile even when I’m in the worst mood. She is always there for me, NO MATTER WHAT when I’m having any sort of problem. She believed in me when no one else did and I can never thank her enough for that. So chelley thanks. Thanks for being my best friends. Thanks for making me want to be a better friend. Thanks for letting me smile in the mirror next to you even when you aren’t ready yet. Thanks for acting like you’re 4 when you’re with me. Thanks for modeling swim suits over top of your clothes with me. Thanks for all of the tears, talks, laughs, parties, boys, and memories we’ve been through together. I love you forever my dear :)
